July 2020 – Retro Game Treasure

Received my second box from Retro Game Treasure and it’s even better than the previous one. A brand new genesis 6 button gamepad was included, as well as, two Genesis and one SNES game. Let’s look at it in more detail.

Retro-bit 6 Button Arcade Pad

This was an awesome surprise; I knew there was the option of getting accessories, but a brand new gamepad, very cool. The gamepad is solid and brand new. Value approximately $15.

The next two games are both Genesis games: Batman Forever and Cool Spot.

Batman Forever

Wasn’t really a fan of the movie, so didn’t have high hopes for the game. The graphics and sound are actually quite decent, maybe a bit too dark in contrast. That said, the controls just suck, the grapple is the worst. I’m still going to try and play it a bit more to see if it’s just a matter of getting used to them.
The label was in good shape. Valued at about $5.

Cool Spot

A fun little game and I didn’t know he’s the mascot for 7-up. Plays well, just a fun, straightforward platformer. The label was good, valued at about $10.

I still prefer Canada Dry, but a fun game.

Super Mario World

And there was also 1 SNES game and its’ a classic: Super Mario World! Valued at about $16, there’s so much written about this game already, it’s an all-time classic; go play it!
Unfortunately the cart itself, while the label is immaculate, the pins are a bit rough and the cart itself no longer works. However, the folks at Retro Game Treasure are a pleasure to deal with and they will include an extra game in my next monthly shipment. I’m looking forward to it!
